Erika’s Foray Into the Medical Sales Field

After completing an intensive 440-hour postgraduate program at the Medical Sales College in Sarasota, Florida, she earned her certification in Spine, Orthopedic Reconstruction, and Trauma. This experience provided her with a strong base in regenerative medicine, consultative selling, orthopedic reconstruction, trauma and spine devices, and business development strategies. These skills have enabled her to promote territory growth, expand the customer base, and secure new business opportunities.

During this time, she gained in-depth knowledge of the spine, biologics, sports medicine, orthopedic reconstruction, trauma products, and procedures. She also became skilled at engaging with diverse audiences. Her understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, biomechanics, ortho biologics, and medical terminology further strengthened her professional abilities. Additionally, she learned operating room protocols and hospital call-point navigation, which enhanced her ability to meet the needs of providers and present product benefits effectively.

Her ability to discuss medical conditions, treatment approaches, and solutions offered by devices, implants, and hardware was a vital part of her role.

While pursuing her certification, she began her career as a Sales Associate at SS Fusion MedicineMedication in Tampa, Florida. She supported account coverage within assigned territories, scheduled meetings with physicians and medical teams, and built positive relationships with both medical and administrative staff.

She also met with constituents, nonprofit groups, and lobbyists to discuss legislative matters. Later, she took on roles as a junior lobbyist and political fundraiser.

Her career path then led her to GSSP in Stamford, Connecticut, where she served as a Business Development Analyst.
